High volume/High Pressure Oil Pump

Just wondering if anyone Has had any luck finding a high quility after market oil pump for the 3.0. You see I am replacing the Oil Pan gasket sunday and with 168k miles just makes since to replace the oil pump. which i will do even if I have to use a stock replacement. I know melling makes a pump but my local napa says it iis just stock replacment and melling does not make a high volume/high pressure pump.

Sorry about spamming your forum so much but I like to keep topics seperated for future searchers.

A stock oil pump is just fine.

Well I drive pretty hard and have a few minor bolt on horse power upgrades planed in the near future. I also use the 3.0 truck to pull my 94 single cab (born 2.3) truck on a trailer because it just is not very street friendly anymore I already have the Transgo Shift kit and torque converter for the 4r44e plus an 8.8 rearend out of an explorer with the disc brakes and 4.56:1 gears because I run 31" swamper thornbirds. Some times I pull the ranger 350-500 miles just trying to make my little 3.0 last as long as possible is all.

opps btw the 94 single cab has 351w full size 79 bronco axles 40" boggers and weighs in right at 4300 pounds with all the underhood A/C out and the trailer I pull it on probably weighs in at 300-500lbs. Also the A/C is going to be reinstalled I just wanted as much under hood room as I could get while working out any bugs that might have come about.

I don't think that more oil pressure would make much difference. You already have 168k and it's running ok, so why now? An oil pump will not make a 3.0 any more powerful. If you have the pan off, it would seem wise to put a new pump on it, but I don't think a high pressure pump will do you any good. Good luck.
