What region of the country to you live in? Live near any high-voltage lines? Digital compasses can be very sensitive and therefore can be thrown off by minor magnetic fields.

Texas...no high power lines...do you know where the compass module is located? Maybe my radar detector is messing with it.

I live in Texas too (Houston area) and don't have any compass problems. Unless the compass is actually defective, I would bet on it being an additional electronic component introduced into the truck's environment. There's a reason that when you travel on an airplane that they have you turn off all consumer electronics for take-off and landing - the small fields they generate can really throw off sensitive equipment. I'd bet on your radar detector being the problem. Try removing your radar detector and any other electronics (even your cell phone) from the truck and then recalibrating your compass. If that doesn't work, I'd bet on a faulty compass (not likely though). I'm not sure where the compass sensor is located but I think I remember coming across some details about it in the owners manual, might wanna look into it.
