The warning says "fifty miles until empty". When I hit the warning I fill it up, and usually put in 23 gallons. Which means I had 7 gallons left in my thirty gallon tank. Fifty miles is pretty conservative in my opinion. At 14 mpg you should have 98 miles. Even at 10mpg that's 70 miles.
I must have missed something as display says nothing about range remaining.Just a chime and then the warning on the display that doesn't clear untill I refill.Back to the manual.
FYI. I drove my 04 screw well past the "0" mark the other day. I put at least an extra ten miles on it before I filled up and it didn't hesitate a bit.
My 90 mercury Cougar was the same. When comp said 0 miles to empty if I stopped at nearest station to fill it would always take 17 gal. Tank held 19.1 My 99 F150 has a 25 gal. tank and if I stop and fill when light comes on it takes 21 gal.
