Latest "New Toy" - a "Trimmer Plus"
So far, it's the bomb, man.
I needed a weed eater, and was going to smurf out the used ones in the papers, but then I saw this rig at the exchange...
I have some tall bushes out front, and also a few trees that are getting attitudes.
So I needed a hedge trimmer too.
This thing is a weedeater that has removable tools that quick-change on the end. Besides a trimmer, it converts to a hedge knife, branch pruner, leaf blower, and some other stuff depending on what attachment you buy.
And what I like the most is that it's a four cycle engine! (No more fuel mixing!!!)
I think tomorrow I'm going to drag home the blower attachment.
This is just what I always wanted - an all-in-one power toy!
(There are at least 4 manufacturers that the parts interchange with, including Troy Built and Yard Man)

Bought one of those machines a couple of years ago when my 2-cycle died.
I bought a RYOBI Model 975r 4-stroke. Had a little trouble with the throttle at first. Found the factory hadn't put the throttle cable on right.
So far its been a great little machine.

Hey Wolf,
What are you doing next weekend? I have a few trees that need to know how your new toy works If ya got a six oclock flight out you could be here by.......
Sorry I just couldn't resist.
The only help from our neighbor is that he now throughs his weeds all the way over to the grass now and not in my flower beds. He is a jerk.
Oh well his house is for sale now.
Have fun with the new toy,
dj

I got the little 2-cylce Ryobi for the string trimmer; my electic one died. Works pretty well. I bought the edger attachment (why have the motor sit idle), didn't like it so I took it back.
Anybody try the blower or roto-tiller attachments? They any good?
Thanks
Raul

I got the combo blower/vac attachment for it, and it worked like a timex, man.
It even sucked the old junk out from under the bushes...
The only bad thing that happened was when I forgot to tighten the bag screw on it and had to hunt all over the yard for where it fell!
I also hit the yard with a load of plus2 weed control, and I have my fingers crossed over that.
Once it does it's stuff, I'm going to rake in some new seed.
Someone told me the tiller works good on turf that's already been tilled, but it will beat you up if it's the first time around. It may be good for setting the seed in though...
