460 casting numbers

It looks like a typical 73-77 460. Its a good engine (motors are powered by electric :]) and a good block, as are any 429/460 blocks. That would be a thin web block, there are some who think that may make it less than ideal for 700 hp+, but others feel its as good as any. I know a guy with a 917HP D1VE thin web block that is running stock 2-bolt caps. The heads are D3, they can be ported (Again, refere to Scott J.) to support 600+ HP. The rods are standard issue passenger rods, nothing special, but then again none of the factory 429/460 rods were that great past 6500 RPM. The cranks are all Nodular Iron, and all can withstand an amazing hammering. Its very common to offset grind a 460 crank to make a 500ci with a Chevy rod, and I know of a couple weekend drag racers that have run 500ci set ups for years and turned them to 7000 rpm often.
