Should I consider a new Ford?

Ok, I ahve an 02 base model sport, love the truck....but it is a 6 cyl 5 spd

The local dealers are selling BRAND NEW 150s starting at 10-11k......I owe around 10-11 on my truck, and it is worth a little over 8 right now...

Are there any problems I need to know about? Anything at all? Should I go run to the dealer this week?

Why haven't you visited the dealer yet?!! I'm trying my hardest to sell my '99 Expy to go get a F-150 Screw... I shed a tear every time I see someone else on the road in a new Screw! Go sign up for a new F-150... NOW!!!

Seriously - unless you really want it that bad or have the disposable cash to take the loss on your truck, it may be financially responsible to stick with what you got. Oh who am I kidding - GO GET IT NOW NOW NOW!!!

I had a 99 F150 SCAB 4x4 XLT. I loved the truck, it was like new, low miles and not a spot on her. As soon as I saw the new F150's at an Auto show in January of 03 I knew I had to have it. I kept up on every pieace of information that I could find and bugged my dealer to death. Finally in Sept of 03 he got one in to look at, touch, feel, drive and sit in. I ordered one as soon as I could. While I was waiting for it to come in I kept thinking how much I loved my truck, there was nothing wrong with it, the new one was too much money

Well the third of November came around I got the call The new one in and was ready to be picked up. So I went to get it and I am still thinking this might be a mistake until................................. I pulled off the lot and said to myself....."I am the smartest SOB in the world! " Well it has been 6 months and a little over 5,000 miles and it just gets better each day. Everyone wants too see it, ride in it and ask questions about it. I come out of work and there are hand prints on the windows from people looking inside. I come out of the mall and there are people standing around looking at it. My smile just gets bigger each day. So my advise is if you can swing the deal go for it.

Only if that dealer is just outside Rochester, NY. You DO support all the FTE sponsors, don't you?

I'm the type of person that never liked driving. I would always avoid it or put it off. I'd "group" trips to get as many projects done on one as possible. That dramatically changed with this new 2004. I enjoy driving. I now keep most of my trips separate so I can put more time on the road. Go test drive one and you'll see the answer.

If you set foot on the dealers lot your dead meat....you'll buy one. This is the first vehicle I've bought in a long time where I didn't get buyers remorse. I love this thing.

When I first saw this truck on the Web, I had to have it. I did not really know much about it back then, but just the look of it gave me goose bumps. For months I waited for the rebates to start to role in. I finally order my truck in Feb and picked it up last week. This truck is awesome. I have the Lariat Screw. Black 2 tone/black interior. Get one today. I tell you that it will be the best purchase you will ever make. I love it.

Drop everthing and get it!!!!!!!

I ordered one, with reservations after all the issues noted on this and other forums. Now after 1000 miles, I have the rear end shudder that just started. So my answer is, they are a nice truck but they appear to still have bugs, so I would hold off for a 05 in hopes they get them worked out.

If you don't wait, test drive one for a couple of days, then hope for the best.

Note, mine test drove perfect, the problem just started.

DOH Mark!1 Why didnt I think of you. what would it take for you to email me with the absolutely LOWEST price you can sell a 04 base model (the new one not heritage) for? and also a list of low end options, such as the Sport option on my current truck, or the STX or anyhting like that, better yet, just a list of all option available and cost. I can try and get an approxy value for my truck down here to gie you an idea on all found discrepencies

On edit sprint part of the reason they are seling for so cheap is the upcoming gas 'crisis' I am sorry, but I consider 3 bucks a gallon a bit of a problem! So trucks are DROPPING in prices
