Question 57 ford f-1 IFS options

I have read the posts about the IFS's I have a 1957 Ford F-1 What is the best clip to use I have herd the Volarie torsion bars Hang way to low. I have also herd the mustang II is a lot me expensive. I am going to lower the truck about 2-3 in if that matters. If I were to install a mustang clip would that naturally lower the front end? I am looking at cost but also quality. If I clip it I don't want to have to dump a lot of money into the suspension just to get a little drop. What are my options?
Thank you,
Ryan (1st timer)

Ryan,

I haven't heard anything about Volare torsion bars being too low unless it might have been a parallel torsion bar set up. My F-3 with 87 Chrysler T-Bar doesn't have low torsion bars and it does drop the front end about 3 inches with no other mods. You can get lower with dropped spindles and relaxing the torsion bar adjustment more if you want it. Any properly installed subframe or aftermarket crossmember including Mustang will naturally lower the front end. Let your pocketbook be your guide as far as which way you want to go. The Chrysler T-bar is probably the least expensive....
