Job 2 truck has shudder !!

Well, after months of waiting and worrying, and then thinking they should have most of the bugs worked out of the Job 2 trucks. My Job 2 truck with 1000 miles started shuddering in the rear end over the weekend after a short 25 yards in 4WD. Only when I accelerate when turning. This ****es me off. What the hell is Ford's problem.

It sounds like the 3.73 clutch pack problem.

This truck tows my camper just fine, has been good in every other way so far, hope this isn't a display of things to come.

What kind of surface were you turning on?? A rear shudder should happen all the time, not just in 4WD, unless something was up w/ the LSD and you were losing traction...

Good luck,

Russ

First time I had used 4wd, was in some light mud/grass towing camper.

Now, with 4wd off, I feel the shudder every time I take off on pavement, this is while turning and little throttle applied, it sounds like the rear end is falling out of it and shakes the whole truck. It has not done this prior to the short stint in 4WD. Wonder is something got stuck ?

Just because it's a "job 2" doesn't mean the problem has been fixed. Sometimes it's cheaper for Ford to just issue a TSB and only address those who complain about the problem. There are TSB repairs for my Super Duty that are going on 4 years now. I also noticed the job 2's aren't coming from the factory with the vibration dampeners installed either. I've seen no proof that a change was made on the factory floor regarding the rear end shudder.

I am calling them tommorrow, I have a very good dealer/Service dept so I am sure they will take care of it. This is time of year we go alot, so it's a P.I.T.A. that I have to mess with it.
