302 windsor exhaust manifold

Hi everyone, having a huge problem locating stock exhaust manifold for my 1985 f100 efi 302 windsor. I have been quoted 350 australian dollars for one exhaust manifold (my passenger side your drivers side) which has a crack in it and making noises that will eventually put it off the road (police) I have been told that a cheaper alternative will be getting extractors (you guys call them headers I think) put on which will cost 150 aussie dollars plus approx 200 dollars installation costs, I am seriously considering heading this way. I am concerned if i put another stock manifold it might crack again, I have just had the exhaust done on this truck about a week before the manifold cracked. Will the headers sound better as I only have a basic exhaust system. 2 1/2 inch single exhaust that comes out in front of the back wheel, I don't mind the sound of it know but the headers should sound better. Any advice and thoughts would be much appreciated. Also, why are some parts for this 302 windsor so rare and expensive, considering they are newer than the cleveland?

Chris, Australia

can you put a cleveland in it without having to worry about emissions?

I really dont know why australia kept the cleveland over the windsors. Are clevlands a dime a dozen over there? Do most trucks run a 302c or 351c?

If you want to do a little part swapping I could definantly hook you up some aluminum Aussie closed chamber clevland heads would be better than a kick in the pants

I would go with the headers (extractors) add some locking header bolts.
