Question on Turbo on 97 PSD

Group
well i've owned my 97 PSD for about 2 weeks now, and all i can say is
AWESOME!, ANyway, I was checking fluids, filter etc, and shot a flashlight down to the turbo, and it looks like i'm missing 2 fins on the turbo fan??
Or is there different spaces between fins??
If i am missing fins, Where are they?? The truck runs great and has good
pull etc. For 250,000 miles on her you would never know it from the way
she looks or drives.
Should i be worried?
Joe

My 96 fins alternate long, short. But spacing is at a regular interval. Do any of the other fins show signs of damage, especially to the leading edge?

I'll have to check again, either i'm missing 2 fins or there small, but
i need to take the hose all the way off and get a close look..
If i was missing fins, wouldnt i have a bad vibration??
Is there a fix if i am missing fins?
Are worn fins common?

The fix for worn or missing fins is a new compressor wheel. but I would be very worried about where the parts went and what damage was done. Also what caused it it happen. Do you still have the stock air filter and air box on the truck? If so I would replace it with a better unit. They are known to let dirt around the filter and then into the engine.

Especially the 1997 factory airbox.
