97 Ranger Door Latch Switches

97 Ranger Door Latch Switches
OK. I've read all the posts on the "Dome Light On" and the WD-40 fix except the WD-40 didn't work for me.
My question is 3-part. After looking at the door latches, I see 2 switches. One on top and one on the bottom of the latch assembly. Which one is the dome light?
Can these switches be replaced without removing the entire door latch mechanisim? If I do need to remove the door latch mechanisim, how do I get them out?
I took the torx screws out of the latches, but with all of the linkage attached to them,(and no way to remove the linkage without breaking the plastic retainers that I can see) I don't see any way to get them out in one piece.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Thanks!!! My cutting torch was starting to look very promising....
The switch was stuck. When I started playing with it on the bench, the plunger finally popped out. At first I thought it was just a ball-detent type, till the plunger slowly appeared. Checked with a VOM, it appears to be working now.
I'm going to order 2 new ones from Ford tomorrow. Even though it works, it still seems sticky.
Thanks again,

My problem was intermitant. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didnt. Sometimes I want the dome light to come on and sometimes I dont so I took the easy way out. I put a small toggle switch in the head liner beside the dome light and a piece of electrical tape over the door adjar light in the dash. Now the dome light doesnt come on unless I want it to.
