79 Ranchero Engine Swap

Have a 351W 79 Ranchero daily driver in NW GA and just bought a 351M 400. Any advice on swapping appreciated. Also, I have the following on the valve cover sticker on the 351M from the 78 Tbird containing the engine and tran (bought the whole car):

351M 400 B 2X180

Does anyone know what the "B" and the 2X180 mean?

Ray, You will have to change the tranny also, since the engines have different bell patterns.

IMHO I'd never replace a W with a M. The W is considered a much better engine by many.

Engine Swap

Thanks to you and a couple of others, I have decided to build the existing 351w. Now I am trying to decide on a cam for the w. the comp cam 268h looks like a good choice, but I would rather use Crane. It seems that Crane has no cross reference and I am unable to match the specs. Please reply if you have any advice.
Ray
