Towing with my F150
My wife was on vacation and she was too tired to drive home and last week when I ran out of gas she brought me some. She asked if I could come pick her up and tow her home just make sure the truck is full hahaha? Well the truck had no problems, check out my gallery for the pics.
Was not very impressed with the mileage though. Trailer empty - 12 mpg
Trailer full - 10.3 mpg. My truck is the HD with the 4.10s, but I thought the bigger tires would help offset the gear ratio.

My stock 4x4 Screw Lariat w/ 3.73 LS got 11.5 mpg pulling a 34 foot travel trailer. It was most back roads and speeds varied form 35-60 mph. It was a 40 mile trip. I didn’t think that was too bad. I thought the truck towed very nicely considering the weight of the trailer. I’m not sure of the exact weight but the trailer is a 1989 and is heavy. To answer your question, I’ve never had any luck or gas mileage increase with bigger tires and normally I’ve noticed mpg decrease. More tire, more rolling mass to get moving. More tire on the road and ect… There are a lot of variables other than the gear ratio, that affects gas mileage.
