Putco Grille Inserts
#2
I HAD a shadow grill, and i don't recomend them. very poor quality. the ends move too much making it look uneven. so like a dumb *** i went out and purchased a putco racer grill. which is supposed to be SS, but one year in indiana and it is rusting, not to mention the junk install kit. my advice stay away from putco!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK I installed the Putco and it does not look like they advertise. They must cut their OEM grille around the cutouts so you do not see it. It looks OK but seeing the original grille behind the Putco grille looks kind of bad. Anyone know what to use to cut the plastic grille? I am only going to cut the front 1" around the cut outs.

Has anyone tried to cut their grille for the Putco? I was looking at my grille and was thinking about only cutting the parts of the grille that you can see through the Putco, but I am worried about structural integrity.
There will be some parts that I can only cut the front rounded part since the Ford symbol and part of the Putco grille connects to the back part of the grille. The parts I could not cut would be painted a flat black and put a black screen between the Putco and OEM grille. Think this will work?

Get one that is a direct replacement requiring NO modifications, sawsall's, sanders, etc.
Or, just chrome your stock grille! That way you KNOW it fits and an all chrome grille would make quite a fashion statement!!
Good luck,
