I have a 96 Ranger, the check engine light keeps comming on. I pulled the codes with a Snap On scanner. It reads EVAP Purge Valve Fault. I have replaced the Evap Purge valve and Carbon Canister. The vapor lines are not cracked or plugged. After I changed the parts I cleared the codes out of the system. I drove it up the road a ways and the light comes back on. Does anyone know what the problem could be.

 

i had the same problem. i didnt replace any thing yet i just shook the heck out of the gas lines and made shure the wire connections were good so far light hasent come back on. is it a 3.0L ,4.0L or 4bangger? i have the 3.0L
