With a gas truck it won't help much if at all and in fact may hurt performance. Most streetable gas engines need a little back pressure to give you the power you want. Most diesels have a turbo to aid in back pressure. Besides ya gots to have black smoke to come out of em, and they don't look good on this body style. There's a guy up here that cruises around in his 5.4L like it's the baddest thing ever but it sounds like crap. Keep your exhaust underneath. My $.02
Sure, but all it will do is make it a little louder in the cab. You won't notice any performance gain. I had a pair of 3" stacks on my '84 F150 with glass packs and long tube headers. It sounded pretty sweet. Looked pretty sweet too!
Ya don't do it. There is a guy around here that has 2in stacks on his F150 and it sounds terrible. Its loud, but it is annoying loud. Plus, I'm going to go out on a limb and say the diesel nuts will harass you about it.
