Lightbulb possible parts truck

I was in philly for the weekend and my uncles neighbor had a 60' just chillin in his shed. The body is shot but the interior is really nice and its got a long bed. The truck has been sittin for almost three years. We put my exploder's battery in her and when I turned the key the truck lurched forward. The clutch MC was bone dry so we filled it up and bled it. Now the starter could be heard attempting to turn the engine over. Yet the engine did not turn over. After a couple attempts the starter began to spew smoke... oh no my uncle took the starter out and hooked it up to jumper cables hooked up to his truck and it turned freely. In it went again only to smoke some more. I let it cool and tried again now a clunk can be heard when you turn the key. In went a spare solenoid and the ground was out on the top starter mounting bolt. Still all we get is clunk. My uncle tells me that its the engine that is seized up and the starter is having a hard time turning the engine over. I think that the starter needs a rebuild... any ideas?

I'd pull the spark plugs & try to turn the engine over by hand.
If you can't turn it,then more than likely it's seized.

Put a socket wrench over the bolt that holds the harmonic balancer on and try to rotate it by hand. Take the spark plugs out first, it'll be easier to turn it.
You won't be able to turn it if it's seized.
