If you had some drag left on the nuts, and a good wrench on the pump I'd say possibly. I've never tried it. I'd also have a key turner inside so you can keep your eyes on the pump and make sure it doesn't move.

Of course if you set it up too high when it's warm, boy will you have a shock the next morning when you fire it up and the cold start advance comes on!
