How Heavy is the Engine

I am getting ready to rebuild my motor and am looking at some engine stands. Does anyone know how heavy the 7.3 IDI is, with or without all the externals. No-Turbo. Not that the externals are that much but just too see what comes out is why I added that comment.

Bare complete 7.3 you are looking at about 950.
Add the alternator, power steering pump, fuel filter, fuel lift pump, oil and filter, air conditioning compressor, fan, and vacuum pump you are real close to 1100.

Turbo would put you a little over 1100.

When I pulled mine I had the freon sucked out first so I could remove the AC compressor. It is always in the way untill it is over on the floor.
I removed the vacuum pump, fan and fan clutch and alternator.
I tied the power steering pump back with the hoses still attached.

If I did it again I would also remove the crank pulley for all the belts.

In my 86 we had to almost turn the motor sideways to get the pulley to clear the top of the radiator support panel.

With a manual tranny the actual remove and install step is a three person deal to prevent damage to something else. It is a very tight fit and the motor is a little much for one person to wrestle around. The other person needs to be under the truck with the tranny/clutch detail.
