That bad huh?? Well....I can see by your sig that you have a taste for older vehicles...Maybe that's why? I'll just tell you that it is a different story in person.
There really isn't any wheel well left anyways.....so I don't know where that came from??? Any lower than that, and the tires would hit when going over big bumps.....
Good thing the spinners she bought didn't work....I could only imagine what you guys would be saying then! To each his own.
You asked for opinions but instead it sounds like you're fishing for compliments.
I've always liked chrome but it doesn't blend well since like most vehicles now, all other trim work is plastic or black. If the door handles, trim around the windows or bumpers were chrome it would blend better.
I am curious about one thing: is this Escape a 4x4? If it is, then don't the big/ wide tires seriously reduce traction? I know they're supposed to improve cornering, but is it at the expense of the 4WD capabilities?

1956MarkII......Yes it is a 4x4. But I am not too sure about your question. I do know that the tires have a pretty good traction rating....The tire is a GoodYear Eagle GTII.
bananaboat...Of course I want compliments....who wouldn't! LOL But of course I just want honest opinions. I do agree with you though....if more of the trim was chrome, or a similar color, it would definitely blend better.
ever seen "street glow"? I put a green neon kit under my Escape (10,000V) Street Glow 5000 series life time warranty...it's the best. When I go out at night heads really crank to see who's driving. I'm the only woman with a green escape with lighting...it's great being different.
check it out, they've got some great clips...and no, I don't work for them nor do I "show my truck", I just think they offer unique products that really make any vehicle stand out in a crowd.
Have to say I agree with the majority about the wheels. They just make the vehicle look "unfinished". If the side cladding was the shiny painted variety as opposed to the MIC gray, that might help it look more together, too. Damn! I love that Chrome Yellow, though!
As for the streetglow stuff, It looks cool for city show-off driving, but isn't legal in many places.
I think it would look better if it was dropped, too. Looks like you got a couple inches in the back and about 3 in the front that it could settle down on. But I don't know if anyone makes a drop kit? Something I've never looked at before.
As for big/wide tires reducing traction, that's not true - wide tires increase traction. That's why offroaders and rockcrawlers go as wide as they can. The larger (heavier) rims will end up hurting fuel economy, etc, due to more rotating mass. The slimmer (low profile) tires will increase cornering, due to a stiffer sidewall, but ride quality will be effected (the lower profile tires won't absorb bumps as well, passing them on to the vehicle).
All that said, I'm not a fan of chrome. As they say, chrome won't get you home. But it's not my car, so have at it!
I see they now have them big rims with fake rotors in them, so it looks like you actually did the right thing by putting big brakes on the truck too.... maybe you should have gotten those....
