Cool F350 7.3l psd 1997 won't start

I just bought this truck last week. In the mornings it won't start unless I jump it off . It will just turn over . If I wait later on in the after noon it starts with no problem . I don't have any more trouble the rest of the day with it . What do I check out first ?

I guess your meaning you have to jump start your truck. First check would be your batteries. Have them load tested at your local parts store. The powerstroke is electricly controled and does take good batteries to start. Does your engine crank very fast???

It seems to crank faster when being jumped started . I think it is the battery also .
My son keeps telling me it's the glow plugs . This is my first diesel and I don't know anything about them. Thanks

You have to get them spinning fast enough to get them to start. I would replace the batteries also, stay away from interstate. I personally have had nothing but problems with them. Jumping the truck would not help a cold start with bad glow plugs. Do you get a lot of white smoke on startup after jumped?
