dana 60 to 10.25 swap ???

Here goes sister and BIL bought an 83 f250 2wd 6.9 ex cab 4 spd with a dana 60 i think it has 4.10s in it (havnt crawled under it to check for myself) but it is too low geared for what they want ? is i have an 89 f250 with a 10.25 with 3.55s anyone know if this would be straight up swap figured id ask here before i got to tied up in measuring everything as the other truck isnt here thanks mike

don't hold me to this but,

The dana 60 were used in the the early 80's models. 85 and down. the 10.25 was 85~86 and up. as for a swap, they SHOULD (key word sholud) swap, but you will have to check for spring perch placements and width of axle. Since they are both 250's and the rears were just different, I don't see why it would not work. Get all your measurements and check for likeness in both axles before you undo anything, good luck

Check centerline of axle housing to centerline of your pinion yoke u-joint on both and compare, to verify that you won`t have to make driveshaft modifications.,Good luck.
