air filter choice

I have a 03 ranger and have recently installed a whipple supercharger. The kit came with a drop in k&n filter but still uses the stock air box. I was wondering if this type of air filter flows more or less air than a system that is just a cone filter without anything around it. I was looking at mac's high flow filter that they sell but im not sure if its worth the money or if the K&n drop in is good enough.

I have the panel filter (K & N part # 33-2106-1) with the 3.0 liter and it has a million mile warranty. If I had the whipple supercharger (dreams), I would have a cold air intake and a cone filter. (probably K&N too)

High flow is the way to go. I have the flowmaster 2 chamber 40 series single exhaust with a Y pipe. (not true dual exhuast for $$$ and back pressure)
