Help with factory DVD install

HELP!!!!!!
I decided to install the factory DVD player in my 2002 X. Waht I thought would be a "cake walk" has tunrned into an expensive mess! Heres my issue, I procured the factory DVD console that comes with the DVD player and rear A/C controls, since I already have rear A/C I didn't see a problem. I also bought the factory mounting bracket for the overhead DVD console, I dropped the headliner removed the old bracket and install the new one, I then cut the headliner to accomodate the new DVD console...so far so good. I then hooked up the coonectors to the Aux A/C and went to connect the DVD connector that I ASS-umed Ford installed but just taped up because it was not in use. SUPRISE no connector, I then turned to my local Ford dealer to see if there was a link harness I could purchase or would I have to replace the whole body harness. They had no idea. I am already into it to far to back out now the headliner alone is $650.00. Has anyone had any experience in installing the OEM player that can help me figure out how to connect the DVD. Yeah I know I should I looked before I leaped but........
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I feel your pain. I was in exactly the same situation as you are in and ended up going with an FM Modulator, but quickly discovered that this was not the way to go. After more research I ended up with the solution I discuss in the thread below. I went this direction as I was told by several that the 2002 CD-6 headunit likely did not have the DVD input capabilities. I have not 100% confirmed this, but it would stand to reason since the 2003 DVD player was the first one to not use an FM modulator (again, so I am told).

I also have to clarify that harness of the unit I purchased had been modified so that there were R/L audio connectors and bare wires for the other power lines and grounds. I can try to find that info and pass it along if it would help.
