noise level of dynomax super turbo & the race muffler

Im redoing my exhaust system, i will be using the stock y-pipe and cutting off both cats and replacing them with a 2.5" catco cat. but i dont know which muffler to get, i like the race muffler cause its cheap but will it be too loud or will the cat dampen some sound too? I dont want my exhaust to be too loud and be a target for the police. Is there much of a noise level difference between the race and the super turbo?

The bullets (race muffler your talking about) are a lot louder than the super turbos i think. As long as you got a cat on there with it i dont think you will get hassled by the cops.

I have headers with a 3" collector and 3" pipe to to 2 Bullets with no cats and mine is very loud, but still no problem with cops. I think it sounds like a nascar. I would go with the bullets they flow well.

Yea, I have dual bullets off a Y pipe with no cats and it sounds like a machine gun

funny thing is that im planning almost the exact same setup as you 84-F250, im even going to get the same catco cat "96 f150".. Im either thinking the race bullet or maybe just a 22 glasspack..Im not sure how much sound that cat will take up?

I just got a 3" single exhaust (with headers) with a super turbo installed, and it sounds good but its not very loud. It opens up real nice under acceleration but its a little on the quiet side.
