Where did you put your CB antenna(s)?

I got the cowl off of my '91 F250 and was thinking about single or twin CB antennas on the fenders. I then found some stake bed hole monuts. so, where do you all have your CB antenna?

Spectramac is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE. Spectramac is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
You could get those little stainless brackets that mount in the hood-to-fender crack. Keep in mind that if you go with duals, they need to be as far apart as possible to keep the SWR down. I just slapped a cheap magnet mount on the hood and ran the cord through the door.

I bought mine with the CB installed by the previous owner, who had it mounted at a CB shop. The antenna wire was run through the firewall, then under the cab and up between the cab and the bed. He had the antenna mounted in the center, but that was gay, so I moved it. I got a 90 degree elbow mount and drilled it into my tool box on hte left hand side...

Mine is on the drivers side front fender, mounted with the steel L bracket that Spectramac said. Actually, it is a VHF, but my old truck had the CB antenna in the same place. When I get a CB, it will go on the other fender.

You should have welded it to your truck... not really...

Thats what thread-lok is for... and a 12ga in case you catch em in the act (just kidding I wouldnt kill someone over a CB antenna, Id just whip them with it for a long time).

Did you mount it in the center or was that how it was when you got the truck? I cant deal with it like that. When you look in your rearview you have a line in the middle o' your window. Maybe thats just my "OCD" (no I havent been diagnosed with OCD, but I might as well have been).

I had an 80 chev 4x4 that I had the antenna sticking out of the middle of the roof, but then my buddies started calling my truck "Pebbles" like Fred Flinstones little kid. I moved it to the hood pretty quick

the best place as far as making for good reception was in the middle of the cab roof. but the ended quick as the antenna broke of from driving though trees, so put it on the drivers side front corner of the bed with a big old bolt though the top of the bed.
run the cable though the fire wall, though the boot that is around the steering column.

i had my cb antena in the stake pockets of my chevy yes i no this is a ford site but we all make mistakes. I had one on each side looked pretty good. On my ford i have them mounted on the mirrors. again one on each side but this time the drivers side is for the cb and the passenger side is for the am fm radio since the orginal factory antena never came with the truck and cb wips are much cheaper.

When I had 1986 - 1995 I mounted mind on the mirrors and ran the wire though the vent window.

I have mine mounted on my mirrors.I have the camper special mirrors . Drilled a hole in door just below mirror bracket and ran wire through door. Did the same on other side and then ran both wires up to center of inside windsheild trim and used a two cable into one cable to back of cb. They are tall enough to let me know the height of low overhangs so i dont shave off my lightbar that is on my headache rack.

the best place is the middle of the truck. but mine is on the right side on the outer part of the toolbox and i put a heavy duty spring on mine cause i would hit everything i went under in my 4wd chevy,(wouldnt trade it for the world), just allows it to have a little more give.. also, keep the coax in 3 foot increments to help on the swr. if yall are ever around b/cs texas, holler for tarzan, i might be out there.
