There was 2 different Warner tranny's in the trucks. You need to get the I D code off the tranny case to be sure. One was a spur gear (T9, crashbox, double clutch), the other was the the Helical gear "synchro silent" T98 Tranny.

The parts book shows a ratio of 6.40 to 1 ratio. If you grab this tranny ( and I would because they're rare!) Grab the bellhousing, clutch and all linkage. Don't leave anything. Grab the rear mounting hardware, etc.... It will bolt up in the smaller trucks, Looks like 17 teeth on the imput shaft. There's no individual ratios listed in my books.

Shop manual shows the T98 silent-synchro as standard tranny for the 6 cyl F6
T9 was optional - looks like you got lucky.
Ratios: 1st - 6.40 2nd - 3.090 3rd - 1.690 4th - 1.0 R - 7.820

Sam's comment made me go back and look at the original post - we may have missed something. If he has a 4 spd, Rev is right and down.

Rev up and rt was the position on the 5 spd tranny's in the F7 and 8's.
(According to the Operator's manual for '48 - gears ratios remained the same thru '52)

The F7 had a 5 spd with 5 being an OD gear. Shift pattern as follows:
2-5-R
3-4-1
Synchro'd on 3,4,OD

F8 had a 5 spd with 5 being straight 1:1 Shift pattern as follows:
2-4-R
3-5-1
All straight cut (spur) gears

This was standard equipment for these trucks. Both trannies were optional in opposite rigs.

My '51 owners manual shows that the syncro 4 spd has the reverse moved up instead of the spur down.

Spur
1-3
2-4-R

Syncro
1-3-R
2-4
