2001 E250 rear seat provisions???

I have a E250 panel van. It is registered as a passenger vehicle (not commercial) here in NY. I get some hassles from Police about having a commercial vehicle on the parkways. Anyway,

Does the E250 van have provisions for rear seats? I don't want to dig up the mat to check.

If so, Is the install easy? What else is needed? Will the seat go in and come out easy if I need to change it often?

Thanks
John

I have a 2000 E-250 cargo van, that has windows all the way around it. I installed a second bench seat. You have to mount four brackets for each seat, bolted thru the floor. The seat then slides into the brackets, and clamps onto them, easy in and out as needed. I got what I needed at a local junk yard. Takes a little work. The floor support actually has the holes punched into them already, if you look at them from underneath the van, but you have to drill thru the floor panel.

my '99 E150 Clubwagon started out as an 8 passenger. i bought an OEM 3 passenger bench seat and turned my van into an 11 passenger. I didn't find any holes for the brackets way back where i put my seat, but the corrugated steel floor had flat spots where the brackets should go. i was in a bind and needed the seat in quick so i had a local welder weld the brackets in for me. i will add bolts later, but in the mean time, those weld are holding very well.

Thanks guys!

I currently have a rubber mat that covers the entire bed of the van. Can the brackets be mounted through the mat so that the mat is still in place and functional? Any pics available of the mods you guys did?

Thanks
John

the seat brackets on my clubwagon bolt through the factory carpet. since i welded my additional seat, i just pulled up the carpet, welded, layed the carpet back down, and cut out slits so the brackets pop through. i would have to assume that if my stock oem seats are bolted through the oem carpet, you should be able to bolt your brackets through the rubber mat. your mat might be thicker than carpet, so you might need longer bolts.

I modified my 89 E150 for a back seat the day I bought it brand new. I had cut the mat around the brackets so it would come out for easier cleaning, which I didn't do often enough because condensation under the rubber mat caused the floor to rust out pretty bad.
That van paid for itself many times over, it doesn't owe me a thing so when I bought my 99 last year, I gave the 89 to the wife's cousin just to keep it in the family. Only had 230K on it, I want to see just how many more it will get.
