Master Cylinder for 54 Ford

I bought a rebuild kit for my manual master cylinder for my f-100.
The boot does not look like the original boot. The new boot has a uniform diamter. The original boot is like an accordian with three different diameters. I'm worried that I received the incorrect re-built kit. I bought it form Dennis Carpenter and the part number on the package matches the catalog. Has anyone else purchased one of these and performed a sucessful rebuild?

In preparation for the re-build I tried to loosen the two master cylinder mounting bolts. I can't figure out how to hold onto the front hidden nut.
Do I really need to remove the master cylinder to re-build it? I'll only be replacing the rear brake line since the front lines show no external corrosion so if I don't have to remove it I won't have to disconnect the two front brake lines.

Any information is appreciated.
