Alternator out of a 89 van.

Hey guy's. I'm jumping over from the Bronco forum. I got a "89" 351W from a junk yard. It came out of a van. I would like to re-use the alternator that came out of the van, but got a couple of questions.
I don't know how it is wired, the amp rating ETC.
The alternator has two threaded lug's. One for hot and one for ground. Then there are two spade connector's, I think one say's FLD, and I don't remember what the other one say's. I assume this is a one wire set-up? Does it have an internal voltage regulator? All of my shop manuals for bronco's/trucks does not show a wiring diagram with this particular alt. Any insight you could give me I would appreciate it.

Thanks
Al

My 89 302 has the same deal, the threaded terminals and it has a 2 socket connector off the vehicle harness that plugs into the spades. Mine has an external regulator. Not much help, but that's all I can tell you.

Would you happen to know what the Amp rating is? Is the Regulator mounted on the fender or fire wall, I did not see any place on the alt. for the mounting of a reg.

My regulator is mounted on the inside of the front bulkhead of the engine compartment just in front of the battery and just above and inboard of the right headlight. How do you find out the amp. rating of the alternator?

I went to an auto parts store and they said that the factory alt was 75 amps, but they had on for $80.00 that was 100 amp's. I think that is the route I am going to go for electric cooling fans and off road lights. I looked in a haynes manual at the wiring schematic for your van and they showed the wires coming from the alternator, then stopped and said continued C-229. Well I started looking for the continuation of C-229 on every schematic to see where the wires end up, but I did not want to stand there for a half trying to find it. Thanks for the leads, I am off in the right direction.
