swap 66 240 for a 66 Mustang 289?

I'm the newbie here. Can get 289hi-po for $200 in good shape.
Have a 66 240 3-on-tree and was wonderin if it would be fairly painless
to swap to the stang 289.Can find mount for it but was wonderin bout
trans. shaft and bellhousing and flywheel. Truck is in very good shape for age and was thinking bout leaving it stock and just rebuild the head(valves bad). What do ya think???
Thanks ,Jim

Several swaps have been undertaken moving a small block into the old trucks. I do not recall the bell housing pattern on the I6, but I don't think it will match your small block 289. Check on the 61-66 truck forum, there are folks there that may have your answers (and experience).

And welcome aboard!
