I just bought the Smokey and the Bandit 3 pack DVD at Wal-Mart for $15 yesterday. All 3 movies are on the same DVD. I got to thinking, would it play the music from the movie if I put it in my CD player in the truck? Just wondering if any of you had ever tried to do it.
I had a computer game that would play music from the game on a CD player, but I don't know if a DVD would be different!! Im with Stingray, give it a try!!
it wil not play. it will not hurt anything if you try. the dvd format weather it be dvd-video or dvd-audio are not compatible with cd-audio. they use different commpression rates, and use different read-wright algorithems. a cd can hold up to 700 mega bytes and a dvd can hold up th 4.7 giga bytes of info
Wow, that got pretty technical there for a minute, where did you learn all that info and still be browsing on Ford Trucks forum too!! Do we have a multi tasked one here??

If I remember correctly it is because a DVD uses multiple layers to read from on one side of the DVD....and I think they are coming out with a new type soon that they can put even more infor on, and also uses a blue laser instead of the red one, reason is that a blue laser is narrower so the info can be put onto a narrower track and tehy can make more tracks on a CD/DVD....i.e. alot more info, I think it is going ot add like 50% more or maybe even double it
