56 stock antenna location?

My 56 has no radio, no antenna... I want ot put in something, but on the outside I want a stock look. Did 56 F-100s have a radio? Where does the antenna go, and what should it look like?

Thanks!

The orignal antenna went on the right side just above the luvers on the cowl
The part # for the orignal antenna is B6C-18813-B .Dennis Carpenter has repops available, and comes with a template for installation. their phone # is 704-786-8139. Its a nice part as I have one ready for install.

Radio

So, where would the stock radio go? Or was there one? I can see no place in the dash for one, I think I am just going to hang one below the dash, but I can not help wondering what stock would look like.

It was a round radio that was installed below the ash tray and to the left of the glove box door in that flat area. If I get a chance I will podst a pic of one.

If you want to hide the radio, you can put it in the glove compartment. Good luck, John

I was thinking about that. I do keep a lot of junk in the glove box, I would miss that space! I saw a photo of a stock radio, thats a wild looking unit! I do hate to hang junk below the dash, but it is better than cutting holes!

How about an overehad console? You can do a small one like the one in my truck, or I have seen some ellaborate units that went all the way across the top of the cab. Good luck, John

Thanks, she goes to her first show on Saturday. We'll see how she compares to those high-dollar trucks from the Bay Area. John
