The opportunity has come up for me to look at a '97 F-250HD XLT 4x4 SuperCab Longbed PSD. I currently have a '95 F-250HD XLT 4x4 SuperCab Longbed with a 460. I want to know what the fuel mileage is on that year, so I can determine if it is worth getting. My 460 gets 12 on a easy day, and 8 on a hard day. I don't know how many miles are on the '97, so I don't know what the dealer will ask for it. I am excited about this opportunity, I'll actually be able to cruise around with out spending $40 every time I feel like riding. I love my current truck, but the cost in gas is killin' me. I also would appreciate any advice on any potential trouble spots in that year and what to look out for. I want to be able to cut my gas spending in half. I know the PSD is a great engine. :-)

 

That's the exact configuration that I have and I usually average about 17 MPG with about 3/4 of the miles on the highway at about 70 MPH. I have averaged as many as 20 MPG at 55 MPH.
