Question 1958 Wiring Trouble! SCHEMATIC NEEDED

Hello All,
I am trying to get my 1958 rewired but it is giving me a headache. The guy that had it before me tore out the wiring to the rear lights. I decided to run all new wire, but I don't want to purchase the entire new wiring harness. Do any of you please know whre I can get a wiring schematic for my truck. It would be very much appreciated.

Bugg,

If you are running an alternator or want to convert to one, the wiring diagram for a mid 60s Mustang on my gallery may help some, but it covers the charging and starting systems only. Your best bet for a complete schematic may be to purchase a shop manual.

Thanks for the info. I have been purchasing alot of books off ebay, but none have had what I am lookig for. My truck has been converted to 12V. I just can't seem to get the tailights, parking lights, and brakes all wired up to complete the circuit.
Thanks again.

Ray,

Actually, your 58 came with 12 volts originally...it all started in 56. You might try looking for something more street rod related. There was a book by Peterson Publishing called "How to wire your Street Rod" that is very good if you can find it. I don't know if it's still in print or not. I'm sure there are others also. The trouble is that wiring has become a matter of kits and no one wants to tell you how to do stuff the old way anymore...

The 1958 ford truck shop manual should have what your looking for(kind of bland on instructions, but it does have the diagrams. -4speed
