Hello, I'm looking for help for my neighbor, he's 75 years old and started to replace his dist. cap and removed all the wires and now has gotten them crossed. What I would like is some help with the firing order and where #1 is on the block? If someone could post a pic of the block and the cap with #1 highlighted it would sure help out alot

On my 90 302 #1 is the front cylinder on the passenger's side bank. It goes 1-2-3-4 with four being closest to firewall. #5 is driver's side front, and 6-7-8 follow with 8 being closest to firewall.

 

Firing order (counterclockwise on the distributor) is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8. Cylinders numbered as written above. Number 1 should be marked on the distributor cap itself - should be about 180 degrees from the direction the TFI plug comes out, probably around 11 o'clock when looking at the distributor from the front.
