Not sure what tranny i am getting into, but it is a 1967 F250 truck with a 352. Do both FMX and C6s bolt up to this engine? What other options would work? Any 4 speed autos that would bolt up? What ever tranny is in the truck need a rebuild but i hear the fmx is not worth rebuilding.

I have found the FMX trans to be very trouble free. I would rebuild it if it were mine and it was already in the truck. The C6 is also very good, especially if you do a lot of heavy towing. But I wouldn't just change from an FMX to the C6 unless I had all the parts and was lookng for a project.

 

I like both of them. C6 seems a little stronger and quiter, but there is nothing wrong with the FMX.

i read that if change to a c6 i will need a new driveshaft for they are different length transmisions, and the shift willneed to be replaced. Dont know if this is true but i guess the fmx rebuild is the best way to go if all these hassles are involved.
