V-10 Vibration
Good Morning. I am new to the site. This appears to be a different thread on the same topic with different people, so I am going to post here as well. I apologize if this is a dupe message for you.
It appears that our truck is not the only one with the vibration problem.
We recently bought a 2000 V-10 F250 4x4 SuperCab Shortbed with auto transmission. At 2035 RPM we have a really annoying vibration/buzz that our dealer has been trying to fix. We discovered this right after buying the truck and test drove an identical model to find out it did NOT have the vibration. So my service department has been great about trying to get this fixed.
Vibration occurs even when vehicle is not moving, so I doubt this is the driveline problem that a lot of people have experienced.
So far, they have nuetralized the exhaust,(no dampners installed), nuetralized the transmission, replace the torque converter, and yesterday installed a complete production engine.
10 days in the shop and it is still not fixed. The dealership has been under the guidence of Ford technical assistance and engineering. My dealer states that the Ford techs act like this is a very rare problem.(Maybe they need to surf the net more at work!! )
After searching the board a bit I found a reference to a TSB 97-15-24 about a possible fix, but someone stated that this was not actually for the superduty trucks. I also found a lot of people that have had similiar problems that state theirs were fixed by installing exhaust dampners.
Could anyone/everyone that has had the vibration/resonance problems FIXED please email me with detailed information about your problem. I would really like to see my truck get fixed. This is a really great truck. Other than this problem we are really happy with it. (kurt_bleich@usa.net)
Thanks!
Kurt
