Hell of a way to run a company
I ordered my HD F-250, SC,4x4,V-10 on sept. 2, 1999. I am still waiting. The last I heard it was to be built Jan. 3,2000, delievered Jan, 24, 2000. Didn't showup, so it was moved to 1/31, 2000, Still no pickup. If I had not needed the truck and wanted the truck I would not have ordered it.Now the dealer is saying 2/18/00. Buddies in the coffee shop say,"Mexico don't have enough beer cans to keep up with demand." Looks to me like it would be a good time to unload any Ford Motor stock because the other auto companies probably aren't run like a 12 year old playing with his train set.

I ordered a 2000 F-250 S.D., 4x4, SC, 6.8L, the first week of October '99, as of Jan. 19th it was still "clean and unscheduled".
I cancelled the order and ordered a 2000 F-150 4x4, SC, 5.4L on Jan 19th. As of Jan. 27th the F-150 was serialized, and scheduled to be built the week of Feb 14th.
Doug.

79072...I doubt the problem is with Ford itself. I would be willing to bet money that your problem is "dealer allocation". Typically, unless you have ordered something way out of the ordinary, you should get your ordered vehicle in about 3 months or so. I ordered my truck 9/21, took delivery 12/29. Different dealers have different allocations. And, don't expect all dealers to be honest with you about their allocation status. I waited exactly one month from the time I ordered the truck to call my salesperson and ask what is the problem and do I need to order from somewhere else. The next day, I had a build date. Granted it was a month away, but I had a date. Once the truck was built and shipped it took 2 more weeks to get it because of delivery screwups. I even went so far as to look at another truck on another dealers lot...but the additional $2200 it was going to cost me made me back off.

79072...dang, I wish you could edit your message once it is posted. I forgot to say, I am not trying to take up for FoMoCo. I am assuming you ordered a SuperDuty. They are producing those trucks at a rapid rate but then there is high demand. But from my experience, and that of others I know who have ordered them, most problems really are dealer allocation related.

Mine took 10 weeks including the 2 weeks the factory is closed at the end of Dec. Ordered mine Dec.21 1998, got is March 2, 1999. It sat the dealer for about 5 days, until one day, decided to go roming the back lot, and there it was. Saleman told me they were JUST going to call me in the next 5 minutes. I'll let you guys make up your own conclusions on that part.
My friend ordered his from the same dealer a 250 SD SC XLT V-10. Was on order for SEVEN MONTHS, still no booking, so he cancelled. Mine is 250 SD CC Lariet PSD, by Jan 15, it was booked.

your problem is most likely dealer related. I ordered my truck Nov 6 99 and took delivery Feb 00. Almost 3 months. But I was told 8-12 weeks and with the 2 week closing for the holidays it was expected. I was going to get it a week earlier but the snow-storm held up all the rail lines. And this I checked personally with Norfolk Southern. I have 2 friends who have the same truck I do but ordered it from a leasing company, don't ask me how, and got theirs in just 6 weeks!!!. Check with your dealer and tell him all your friends have theirs in under 3 months and that you are going to order from where they did and you might get some results. Don't want to sound like a broken record but the truck is AWESOME!!!!

Our dealer told us the Excursion gets priority since the V10 is standard for it.
Our dealer removed a simple conversion package on a truck in stock after our ordered unit missed it's 18 week projected time from ordered date to delivery. The V10 was the hold up, for whatever reason. They had a long list of V10 orders.

I ordered a 2000 250SD, V-10, CC, 4x4, Lariat in mid December. The truck was serialized by January 5, was given a build date of Jan.31 with projected delivery of Feb 21. I hope I get it by the end of Feb or I'll buy it off the lot somewhere. I see the 2000's rolling in all over the place and somebody will have one setup like I ordered. **shrug** I hate waiting.

It seems that the delivery dates have been pretty accurate for everyone I know of that has ordered. Well, within a week anyway. Like I mentioned above..when I was waiting forever on a build date, I went looking at various other dealers to see if I could find one that had what I wanted on it or more. I did not put any money down when I ordered the truck so I was free to look without losing. I had a firm price and everything I found on the lots was at least $2000 more than I was going to have to pay. I negotiated a $500-over deal and the best deal I could get off a lot was $2500-over, unless I would take a 99. That was never an option since the problems with the 99s seem to be well documented.
