Tires on my 02 Ranger Edge? What will fit without modification?
I'm just curious if anyone knows the max tire size that will fit on my 02 Ranger Edge 4X2 without modification. I want to use my stock rims and i'd prefer not to lift the truck any higher that stock.
The 4x2 ranger edge is still higher up like the 4x4 right? I don't know if it will help any, but I have a 1998 Ranger 4x4, and I fit 265/75-16's on with no problem and no lifting. And they never rub. And I would imagine that if all the edges are the same height, you could probably fit them too. But if not, definatly 245/75-16'2.
I believe the $x2 edges sit as high as the 4x4. 16s would be nice but i really want to keep the stock rims and get some mud tires. i would like to get some 31s or 32s if i can get them to fit.
What size wheels did the fx4's come with? Were they 17s? or 15s? Seems liek the Fx4 F-150s had 17s now that i think of it, and seems like the rangers were the same. Well, whatever you have, if the 2wd is as tall as the 4wd, and i think it is, you should be able to fit 31's with no problem. I think my 265/75-16's came out to being 31.5 inches tall. Whatever tires you want, go onto tirerack.com and look up the tire and size. On their website somewhere, you can look up the Overall Diameter of the tire you want. That is really what you need to look at. But anyway, good luck on getting some nice tires
You should be able to fit up to 33x10.50R015 with only minimal rubbing at full flex/full turning. If you want to go wider, you can squeeze in 32x11.50R15. In either case you'll have remove the front mud flaps (if you've got 'em).
