I can certainly understand where you are coming from 150ford, for those looking for a true 4 door crew cab, Dodge's Quad Cab is not satifactory. Now try to understand my point of view a bit, a crew cab is actually too long for my tastes and offers more room than I'd ever actually need. A quad Cab is a good answer for those who actually want to place grown adults in the rear seat without the extra length in wheelbase. I'm sorry MW95F250 cannot get comfortable in one, but he is much taller than the average person is. I for one feel it is perfect. It is larger than an extended cab and it has real doors for getting in and out. I'm no small guy either, and I felt very comfortable in the back seat. It makes a terrible crew cab, and it also makes all other extended cabs seem that much more terrible and a waste of an option the way they are. JMHO.

Here in N/E Ohio, the Fords have a good resale value, especially the Super Dutys. Thats why I bought an F250 over the F150. I dont work with my truck and dont own a trailer. I'll be hauling my ATV with it so an F150 would have been fine. Besides I have always liked the styling of the Super Dutys, the resale is really good. I got D-plan because my wife is a Ford Service Manager, so with what I paid, i'll probably beable to get around what I paid for it in 2 years.

My Chevy is the only truck the Transmission did not go out on when towing distances. 400K and pulling. Gas 5.7 and OD converter Lock up tow package... It's a 93 model though where as the Ford was a 2000 and the Dodge was a 2002. Both Trannys went at under 100K and the dodge went out on the first long pull I made... Thus 400K Chevy tranny, 100K Ford Tranny and 500 Mile Dodge Tranny... Did I get Lemons or does this shound right? BTW the Other Chevy Truck I have is at 300K so no fluke with the Chevy...

HeyWant2Bfordman I presume your talking about HD trucks here. Sounds like a die hard chevy man here. To have any transmission hold up over 400,000 miles pulling a load. That would belong in the guiness book of record. Are you pulling one on us . Hey I wasnt born yesterday. Hey why would you want a ford you sure sound like a bowtie guy to me and a loyal one at that. Hey did you have one to many????

Chevy did some things well. I won't buy a new one though... Like everthing else I suppose you got to let the lemons sort out of the bunch to get a good one... Can you answer a simple Ford question? Did Ford use any kind of push rod guide plate on the pedestal mounted rocker assembly? Just need to know so I can put a 335 series Cleveland back together. I can't find any info and it has been so long since I've been inside one of these non-adjustable pedestal mounted assmblies I forgot without taking it apart. Of course if I had the parts in a box that would be a simple fix too but I have bare castings...

BTW 1500 Suburbans are the trucks I run. Seating for everyone and they last a long time. I understand Chevy used a 2500 Chasis though and an OD lock out converter when equipt with tow package... Meaning the tranny does not slip in OD and burn up like the others I mentioned. This was not a special order just a standard tow package... Dodge dealer said the truck was not covered under the warranty because we towed in OD and it had to tow in 3rd which means 6MPG at 60MPH. Hmm, vs OD and 16MPG at 75MPH in the Suburban... Needless to say never buy one of them again. I guess my 100K milage was considered good towing with the Ford? Mileage fell between the two above... So no fan of any brand name as everyone made some junk... I do like the 5.7L and the tranny they used in the Suburbans... They do not pull hard though and will slip on a incline curb with a trailor attached due to the low stall... I think they all will like that though...

Want2Bfordman, yes, there are pushrod guide plates on a 351c.
Towing as much as you do, I would consider a diesel before I would get another gasser, especially looking at the gas prices nowadays.
