Arrow throttle body function

I know theres been tons of threads for these, but what exactly does a throttle body spacer do on fuel injection? I wouldn't see why you would want the air to be spiraled for fuel injection. I was gonna try to make one out of 1inch aluminum with no spiral, just to maybe see if ut will do anything.

lengthening the distance the air must travel by means of a t/b spacer will usually increase torque at the cost of hp at the higher rpms....

why does it do this though, any benefits at around 2500rpms?

That's about where it looses the effect. Depending of course on the engine...

I never noticed a difference in either of the trucks I had.
