Hey I also have a problem on a 92 crown victoria and was hoping that any 4.6 experts have some tips. When I crank my engine it turns over but wont start, it has compression on all cylinders but when it cranks it cranks real rough and has no oil pressure, thats all i can describe any help would be gladly apprecaited.

Need to know what year the car is Squiggy, are you sure the ecm you got is good? Kinda hard to not get it pluged in right, but worth taking it back out and reinstalling it, is the ecm from the same year car? Only two years were interchangable the '96 and '97s If you got it from the junk yard I would go back and swap for another one, might grab a P71 ecm (police computer) slightly firmer shifts, raised fuel limiter, raised shift points, much higher speed limiter.

The year is 1998. It was a police car, but swapped to be a cab. I got compression, no spark and no fuel charge plus the computer cant communicate with it. Ill check for the P71 model. I got power and grounds to all needed places... I figure the problem lies in something with it operating both things. The dude said it wouldnt start after he drilled screws into his door. I pulled the panel off to see if any wires were chafed but no such thing. I unno The theft system might do it. ???

I would again say a bad ecm, I don't know if we are allowed to post links but if you do a search or ask on crownvic.net you WILL be dure to find the awnser, sorry I couldn't be of more help. P71 is police interceptor, if you put a regular crown vic ecm in your police interceptor that would be a back step, I would try and stay with the P71 ecm if I could, might also want to post in the computer chips section here on FTE, Ken or one of those guys might be albe to get you in the right direction. I don't think pats has anything to do with it, although if the ecm you put in it had pats it might be in a saftey setting and not allowing fuel\spark since your P71 doesn't have pats, best of luck!
