R-12

Hello All

Just a quick question please- All of my vehicles are now 134, I still have a sealed 30 lb. Dupont canister and a few single cans, how do I sell this? Does the person have to be certified to buy now? I am just a hobbist and don't know the rules now in effect.

Thank you for any input-

guyeebob

Hey Bob, I would check out ebay. That stuff is always popular there and you can get an idea of what it's worth.

The buyer must be certified but it's not hard to get certified. You can do it online.

Dan,

Thank you for the information on how to market the R-12 that I've had around the house. I was confused on the certification rules but your explanation that it can be done online was helpful.

Thank you much Guyee bob

You only need a license from the EPA to buy Freon; none is needed to sell it. Ebay is a good place; to be legal you just need to have the buyer fax or email a pic of their card. I have bought a lot of it on ebay and most of the time their ad will say to send a copy of the card, but prolly 3/4 of the time when its time to complete the deal, the seller will just send the merchandise w/o actually requiring a copy of my license.
BTW, I believe that you should only ship it by ground, but I have recieved several that came by priority mail (air)

I would check the local shops in your area. They can take it off your hands without worrying about shipping a heavy 30lb container.
