If it's a Ford incentive, I believe the answer is no. I've read in a few places on the net that domestic manufacturers give 3% of the MSRP back to the dealers after the sale. So no matter what you pay, the dealer still gets 3% of the sticker price regardless. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. The only way I can see a dealer losing money is if they cut way below invoice, give you their factory holdback (the 3%) and offer their own dealer incentives or rebates. Of course the dealer has to stay in business, so you have to let them make SOME money. How much is what the debate's about. It's funny though (the car biz)...I can't go into Sears and talk them down several hundred bucks on a big screen TV (unless you're trying to price match another store), but you CAN talk down a car dealer several grand on a car. What amazes me is the people that think the dealers should make no profit whatsoever.
