Painted bumpers

i have an 2003 expy with the grayish bumpers, the rest of my truck is a nice red and i wanted the bumpers the same color. I heard that painting plastic parts can get pricey and they just chip anyway... aka chevy avalanche's side panels. Has anyone had any experience with this?

I had a local body shop paint my front bumper cap and airdam (bugshield and window ventguards too) on my 02 F150. I have a pictures in my gallery. Only charged me $100 including paint, now I know why. The top edges of the bumper cap and airdam are starting to flake off. Its not rock chips, just looks like bad prep work. I know I should have done it myself! As long as you don't drive on gravel roads on a regular basis, it should last if its done right. There is also a clear plastic film that you can put over the parts to protect them. I guess I'll live with the flakes untill it gets really bad and then I'll repaint them myself.
