Question 1986 Bronco WEST COAST STYLE?

Hey what's up everyone? I haven't been on here for a while.Currently I'm riding in a 1986 Ford bronco.Since these new car shows about modifying cars are such a hit, I've been thinking to do the same. The project im debating about has everyone mad. Yes, I would like to turn my bronco into a LOWRIDER. West Coast Style. Bagged, Bling Bling Rims, euro lights, & a hott A$$ paint job. My only problem is how and if this is possible. I've received so much criticism and saying its crazy. But I know what crazy ideas are.Any ideas or suggestions?

There is no need to have 4x4 if its not going to be used. Might as well do something creative.

Then you'll love this mod, I call it "recycled rice" I found this tail pipe extension out in front of my house, cleaned it up "bling bling" and screwed it right to the 2 1/2 tail pipe

I don't like the idea of a Bronco being lowered either.
I was in a shop once, where a 2X Ranger was being lowered. Saw them take everything off underneath, and then the installation of the adjustable lowering kit. I would think that in a Bronco's case, the weight of the beast might be a problem.

Not to be funny or anything but I've seen an F-350 lowered. A bronco can not be heavier than an F-350. Also, would it be a problem getting bigger rims as in Lexani or Giovanna? What would be the biggest rim that would fit?

The biggest rim? well, I ride with 33 mud kings which arer really about 32" tall, sooo, I would thing a 30-32" rim. But, I think the only good 2wd broncos built were the lighnting mods. But I have seen a pic of a 78-79 bronco lowrider, it looks like crap, I have also seen a 87-91 bronco lowered, it it made me sick, cause the guy still had the front D44 front on it, If you lower, then drop in a 2wd drivetrain, instead of putting the t-case and all too waste.
I think you can make a westcoastchopper style bronco and lift it with some badass wheels and big tires then with a kickass paint job.
sorry for the length.

P.S. Every time I see a 2wd blazer or dodge ramcharger, it reminds me too lift my bronco.

You Should Go For It I Think Its A Good Idea
I Have A Friend With A 91 Bronco That Wants Me To Bag It For Him
You Can Fit 22 Inch Rims If You Really Cut The Thing.
That Was My Plan A Long Time Ago But I Bagged A 68 F100.
I Would Build A New Frame With 2 By 4 Tube With A Mustang Ii
Front Suspension And A 2 Link Rear.
To Manny Lifted Broncos Its Time For A Dropped One.

well, it might look good if its done right, its not my style, but you should make it look good. do whatever you want, to each his own, but you will most of the time(9 out of ten) you will be criticized due to the bronco demographic. but like i said twice now, do it right

I wouldn't do it,but I seem to have seen pics on the net where people have done it.sorry I cant remember where.I know they removed the four whell drive and dropped it.don't know about bags and all.I live in so-cal and I have seen one done very poorly. The way they did it with short wheelbase it looked lame.BUT,I kinda like the look of the lightning bronc,so give it ashot...do what you want! maybe someone in the lightning forum has ideas.I have seen posts of guys wanting lightning engine parts and tyring to make their broncos lightnings, maybe they could help!who cares what everybody thinks(even me)
just try stuff and have fun

well, I'm with 99% of the rest of the board on not necessarily liking the idea of a dropped bronco. personally, I'm not a fan of any lowered truck... i mean it's a truck, right? it's supposed to have ground clearance... but I'm not one to pass judgement. It's all about making your ride "your ride".

that being said, perhaps you could find someone that wants to convert their 4x2 F-150 into 4x4, and swap out all the driveline bits to do a complete conversion. Depending on how low you want to go, this swap will be necessary, as you can't tuck the D44 and twin I-beam in too far. The pickup owner would have to get a longer driveshaft to go from t-case to rear axle, and you'd have to get a shorter one to go from tranny to axle... but it would be alot cheaper than outright buying all the stuff. in fact, you would probably make some money on the deal. I'd say to go with the lightning conversion, but I think you want it lower than that. I can't speak to the size of the rims, since I'm pretty sure that all depends on how low you take it.

Why don't you just give ol Jesse James a call? I bet Monster Garage would like to take on a 4x4-4x2 lowrider conversion :-)

yep the idea of a 2wd big bronco is no coment , but on the other hand have you ever seen a 2wd bid bronco? they say that you can change a 2wd f-150 to a 4wd, why not the other waay around 4 to 2 same holes and so fourth no?

When I hear low-rider I always think of a vehicle that has 13 inch spoke rims that stick out too far and the side says lobo on it. YUCK! Now I love the way some trucks look with a huge rim that fill out the wheel wells. Just don't think it would be that attractive on a Bronco either. Although I saw a four door dually f-350 at the friendly ford for sale out here and it was lowered with 22's and man did it look good! I now it kind of defeats the purpose of a truck but if you have the cash so what! I would suggest doing it to a chevy so if you mess it up no big loss.
