Has anyone swapped the low gear set from an AODE to an AOD? I was reading on the Bauman engineering site that you can swap this parts to get better gears on the tranny instead of going to lower gears on the axel and still keeping the advantage of AOD. They also mention swaping the servo from a C to an A or vice versa and installing a 2 inch od band instead of using the 1.5 inch. I currently have all the parts to do the swap but need to know what parts exactly I need to swap. Also, to order the overhaul kit, do I order one for an AODE or an AOD? I was told by a shop that all the internals are the same between the aod and the oade as far as clutches and metals. Any experts on this issue?

 

The AOD and AODE have the same gear ratios. What you need is the 4R70W gear set. Those have a lower first gear ratio.

I've heard that this can be done, but I don't know any of the details.
