No, but I had home made blackberry brandy once. To toast the 2000 New Year. Hmmm..... how smooth. I can taste it now, even as I think of those times....
But now, my drink of choice is Armenian Cognac (called Brandy now, Post-Soviet correction -- though some older bottles still carry the "Cognac" label). Not less than 10 years aged. The 20-year+ barrel aged stuff is incredible, though I really need a good event/excuse to open a bottle of that stuff.

I have drank calvados that was homemade from various regions of France. My father had the opportunity to tour with the hereford cattle association throughout the countryside visiting farmers. Nearly all the countryside people make calvados as they did in our south with moonshine. A bottle made its way back to me from that trip. Calvados taste very near to a good cognac. It was given to me , as it is often done to celebrate something special (1st divorce). It is excellent but I think almost impossible to find in America. A few years ago I seen a tv special that the government was cracking down on the country people making cavaldos- I do not know whatever happened there. At my grandfathers funeral in arlington I was able to find it at a abc store in d.c, so it is possible to get it in the good old USA. Good luck- share it for a special occassion...
