Question 4.2 drop into ford ranger

Hi people again i have a #.0liter 97 fordranger xlt 4wd 5 speed and the 3.0 liter is just not gonna work so i was thinking of droping a 4.2 f150 engine into it supercharged brand new and i have heared good coments about the engine in a f150 so i wouldnt think it would be bad in the ford ranger so should i drop it into my truck? then add diablo chip new clutch mac intake? and whats the gasmillage like on that? and would there have to be alot of changes made to my truck to do it?

i dont want a 5.0!!!bad gas millage

umm last time i checked my 5.0 gets better mileage than my 4.2.... if i don't drive agressivley, the 5.0 can pretty much idle and get you up to speed in a light 1/4 ton truck like a ranger

Why not upgrade to a supercharged 4.0, since the 4.0 comes with the ranger?

This is a very clean truck, but Id say a 9.43 1/8 mile isnt too shabby.
